ITFF flies to Portugal:

President Piero Pacchiarotti and Technical Director Francesco Capuano withdraw the Aurelio de Paz dos Reis Award at 15th MIFEC – International Film School Festival.

The prestigious Aurelio de Paz dos Reis Award has been awarded to International Tour Film Festival. The Award Ceremony will take place on May 25 at MIFEC - International Film School Festival  in Porto, Portugal.

At its 15th edition, MIFEC Festival will take place from 22 to 26 May at the ESAP - Escola Superior Artística of Porto, one of the main Portuguese institute of audiovisual arts. The Aurelio de Paz dos Reis Prize take its name from the homonymous pioneering Portuguese cinema  and director of A Saída do Pessoal Operário da Fábrica Confiança (the first Portuguese film ever made) , and was first established in 2007 as award dedicated to those who have dedicated their own career in the promotion of the seventh art in its various forms . Among the distinguished award-winners of previous editions stand out the names of several directors, actors, film teachers, festivals and institutions: for the national section we mention João Botelho, Pedro Costa, João Mário Grilo, Leonor Silveira, José Bogalheiro, Margarida Gil, Abi Feijó, Regina Pessoa, João Canijo, Sério Fernandes and the ICA (Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual).

ITFF of Civitavecchia is the second Italian film festival to be awarded (the first was the Montecatini International Short Film Festival - MISFF) and will join the winners of the international category as Trafic Magazine (France), directors and professors Rob Rombout and Alfonso Palazón, and the KINOPROBA - International Film Festival of Ekaterinburg (Russia).

Piero Pacchiarotti, the Founder of the International Tour Film Festival, who will give to the MIFEC organizers a plaque and a special letter from the Municipality of Civitavecchia, will personally receive the award, accompanied by Francesco Capuano, Technical Director of the festival. Both will held  a workshop focused on film tourism, during MIFEC Festival.

"We are very happy and honored to receive this award - explains Pacchiarotti - once again International Tour Film Festival goes beyond national borders, and we can note that our efforts in these last seven years give its results: cinema can be a vehicle for the cultural and tourist evolution of a country. During our workshop,  we will introduce to the audience, the city  of Civitavecchia and the other municipalities which hosted the Festival  as a concrete and virtuous example of what can be achieved thanks to the joint collaboration between local institutions and the magical world of cinema ".
