Ekaterinburg (Russia) Thursday 5 December: the best of ITFF tourism short films at XVI Kinoproba International Film Festival
The best of the ITFF 2019 tourism short films at Kinoproba International Film Festival - Film Schools Workshop in Ekaterinburg, Russia.
A special program of tourist courts curated by the ITFF will be presented Thursday 5 December in Yekaterinburg, Russia, as part of the XVI edition of the Kinoproba International Film Festival - Workshop of Film Schools.
The enhancement of cinema as a world cultural heritage, to make our territory known and appreciated with its cultural, landscape and gastronomic richness. "- Says Piero Pacchiarotti, President of ITFF - "This is the mission which CivitaFilmCommission presents itself to the sixteenth edition of Kinoproba. Hoping to creating a positive interchange between our two geographically distant but culturally closest realities. Also a short film will be presented for the occasion summarizing all the stages of the tour. We are very proud to show to Russian audience and our efforts for cinema and culture, which represents a unique opportunity. Once again, I wish to thank anyone who has taken part in the realization of this eighth ITFF edition. I am proud to export Civitavecchia to every corner of the world as well as share all the emotions we felt during the festival evenings. We have many friends and professionals in the cinema industry in Russia and they are all in love with our city; we can't wait to to delivering our "cinematic business card ".
How did the initiative to bring the best short films to the Ekaterinburg festival come about? Francesco Capuano, Technical Director and curator of this program, says: “Lilia Nemchenko, director of the Kinoproba Festival and our dear friend, came to visit us in Civitavecchia at the International Tour Film Festival where we proudly presented, as an out-of-competition event, a program of animated short films made by Urals directors. A few days after the end of the festival, we were invited by Lilia to prepare a ninety minute program dedicated to tourist films and so we chose the best short films reviewed this year starting with the winner Rabska Fjera - Sanjin Medieval Summer Festival Badurina. This very important event marks the further confirmation of friendship and cooperation between both festivals"
One of the most popular and followed film festivals in Russia, Kinoproba saw internationally renowned authors such as: Aleksey Fedorchenko, Krzysztof Zanussi, Koji Yamamura, Aleksandr Petrov (Academy Award winner as Best Animation Short film for "The Old Man and the Sea"), Andrei Zvyagintsev (Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival for The Return) and David Sproxton (co-founder of Aardman Animations)
